Railway accident! 15 injured after the impact between two trains between the North Station and the Basarab Station

According to ISU Bucharest – Ilfov, following a collision between two train sets, the rescuers intervened to provide qualified first aid to the passengers.

10 water and foam extinguishing vehicles, all available medical resources, two extrication vehicles, a multiple casualty transport vehicle and a mobile hospital were sent to the scene.

Following the collision, the occupants self-evacuated on the platform, until the fire brigade arrived.

Up to this moment, 15 people, with minor injuries, have been assisted by the first aid crews, of which 8 have been transported to the hospital.

UPDATE:

According to the Infotraffic Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, the accident occurred between the CF Basarab and Gara de Nord stations, Bucharest municipality.

A Regio passenger train, which had 6 carriages and was traveling on the Bucharest Nord-Brașov route, collided with a locomotive.

The railway traffic is interrupted and normal traffic is expected to resume after 20:00.

UPDATE 2:

The National Railway Company CFR SA informs that on Friday evening, at around 6:30 p.m., a private passenger train, which was departing from the North Station, from line 11, for locomotive regrinding maneuvers (returning to change direction going) and then by coupling to the lining, the buffering of the first carriage occurred, in which passengers were already boarded.

From the data sent by the SMURD teams, 7 passengers, including the mechanic, needed care from the medical crew.

The railway incident will be investigated by AGIFER.

At the present time, the other sets of passengers, which arrive or depart from the North Station, are not affected by the incident caused by the private passenger train, which belongs to the operator Regio Călători.
