Ralf Schumacher: Lewis Hamilton is “light years” behind Michael

Ralf Schumacher was asked to answer the question of whether Lewis Hamilton is the best driver in Formula 1, with his brother Michael Schumacher stating that Hamilton will always be light years away from Michael, despite the fact that both two have seven championships, with Hamilton having more wins (105) and more pole positions (104) than the German driver.

In my opinion Hamilton can never come close to Michael. They will always be light years away. In Formula 1 it is up to the team to offer the car to win a Grand PRix. We all thought Lewis could walk on water and instead he didn’t.

People ask me all the time if Lewis is the greatest driver of all time now that he has broken many of my brother’s records. In my opinion, Hamilton is definitely the strongest of his time. But it’s hard to compare him to Michael.

In addition to his great talent, Hamilton was also able to rely on an excellent technical package at Mercedes. For my brother it wasn’t always like that,

said Ralf Schumacher who considers Max Verstappen a better driver than Hamilton.

Max is more talented than Lewis. This puts him in a different category. Michael was one of the drivers who made the difference, just as it is now with Verstappen.
