At the same time, he claimed, “Martial law is the president’s inherent authority,” and “There was a reason why he had no choice but to declare martial law, but the president was confined and oppressed by saying that he was the leader of an insurrection.”
Attendees chanted, “Impeachment is invalid, martial law is legal,” and called for a halt to the execution of warrants by the High-ranking Public Officials Crime Investigation Office and for the Constitutional Court to dismiss the impeachment.
They claimed that the main culprit and force of the rebellion were not President Yoon and the ruling party, the People Power Party, but the opposition parties, including Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party.
He also requested the Democratic Party to “abandon its desire to conquer early presidential elections and engage in bipartisan cooperation to stabilize the political situation and restore the Korean economy.”
Addressing the People Power Party, he called for “irresponsible aid that provided the current government crisis” and urged the implementation of responsible politics for the country and people.
