At the same time, the representatives of the “white ballet”, according to the AS website, “swept off the table” the possibility that the former captain of “Los Blancos” Sergio Ramos, who is currently without a club, would return to the club.
Antonio Rüdiger and Ferland Mendy are among the full-backs who were expected to be a regular part of Real Madrid’s starting line-up before the season.
The trio of Dani Carvajal, Éder Militao and David Alaba are out for a long time due to serious knee injuries, and due to health problems, the substitute for the position of stopper – defensive midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni – is also missing. Lucas Vázquez and Rodrygo are also on the maród list.
Although the involvement of Ramos could temporarily “take a thorn out of Real’s heel” in terms of the composition of the defensive formation, the club is not thinking about working with the soon-to-be 39-year-old player.
Even if the winter transfer window opens in two months, they prefer to buy someone more promising in age, who would be able to play in the colors of the Madrid club for more than just a few months.
The aforementioned newspaper AS reports that Real has selected three central defenders. In the last hours, the officials agreed that the priority will be Aymeric Laporte from the Saudi Arabian Al-Nassr, plan B will be the Frenchman Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig and plan C should be the German representative Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen.
