Project Arielle’s features don’t seem very useful, but those who have tried it don’t want to get out of it.
It has now become a tradition at CES that Razer, known for its spectacular peripherals, comes up with something amazingly strange. The manufacturer didn’t lie to himself this year, either your own AI gaming assistant it was just one of his novelties. His other big launch in 2025 is called Project Arielle.
It differs from Razer’s other gaming chairs in that the racing car design has been replaced with a mesh backrest. However, this is only the basis of the construction: the fan built into the chair is responsible for the magic.
In Project Arielle, there is a bladeless fan motor that can blow cold or warm air on us through the holes hidden in the tube of the chair back. According to Razer, when cooling, the air temperature while sitting in the chair can seem 2-5 degrees lower, which can be a useful help in the summer months. In the colder season, we can rely on the heating system, which can pump 30-degree air onto our backs.
The system reaches this temperature partly thanks to the seat heating solution used in cars and partly thanks to the fan unit blowing warm air. The temperature can be adjusted with touch buttons mounted on the side of the seat. You can of course turn the lighting on and off with the buttons, as the chair is packed with RGB lights, as is true to Razer’s custom.
The only downside to the set-up is that it’s powered from a power outlet, so the cable limits the ability to rotate. Fortunately, the designers also thought of this, a The Verge according to its tester, the cable disconnects immediately if we accidentally forget about its presence and make a big turn.
Project Arielle has only been prototyped yet, but both The Verge and the PC Gamer its on-site tester spoke highly of it. Both cooling and heating have been described as a pleasant experience, so who knows: maybe this crazy project will even succeed.
