Razgatlioglu wants to MotoGP, but not like Markes

Toprak Razgatlioglu wants to move to MotoGP in 2026 – but won’t accept a deal like Mark Marques signed this year.

Marquez left his long-standing factory contract with Honda this year to sign for Ducati’s Gresini satellite team, favoring the machines – a decision that eventually earned him promotion to the official team from next year.

But the WSBK champion wants a factory contract for MotoGP immediately after changing the category in which he competes.

“We want to be in MotoGP in 2026, that’s our goal”said his manager Kenan Sofuoglu.

“We will evaluate all the options on the table. If we don’t find the right proposal, we might stay in WSBK.”

“BMW is our priority right now, but we still don’t know what will happen after 2025. We have to see what’s at stake, and then we’ll make a decision about the future.”

“We want a factory package and a contract with the factory like, for example, Jorge Martin has with the Pramac team. We are not interested in an agreement like Marco Marquez with Gresini.”

“I say that because Mark has a lot of support and strength behind him, while we in Turkey don’t even have sponsorship, let alone weight in terms of support.”

Razgatlioglu won the WSBK this season after swapping Yamaha for BMW.

He tested a Yamaha MotoGP bike last year, but it never led to a championship change. He has since left the Japanese brand.

Razgatlioglu’s talent definitely attracts a lot of attention, and some MotoGP manufacturers could be among those interested.

The MotoGP rider line-up for 2025 has changed a lot, with satellite team Pramac swapping Ducati for Yamaha.

What the situation will be in 2026, when Razgatlioglu plans to move to the premier class, remains to be seen.
