RBC: Ukraine used Atacms missiles on Russian territory for the first time!

Ukrainian defense forces struck Russian territory for the first time with Atacms missiles, successfully destroying a military target. This was reported by the information source of the Ukrainian Defense Forces RBC-Ukrainalle.

According to the source, the strike was aimed at a military target in the Karačev district of the Bryansk region, about 130 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

“ATACMS missiles were used for the first time in an attack aimed at Russian territory. The target in the Bryansk region was successfully destroyed,” the source said.

What is known about the target of the Karačev attack?

On November 19, the target of the attack was the weapons depot of the 67th Main Missile Office (GRAU) of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Videos of loud explosions and fires spread on social media.

Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) disinformation center, said that the warehouse housed, among other things, artillery munitions, including projectiles from North Korea, precision bombs, anti-aircraft missiles and multiple launch system rockets.

The warehouse in question has been the target of an attack before. In October, Ukrainian drones attacked the warehouse, which, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, caused logistical problems for Russia and weakened its offensive potential.

In connection with today’s attack, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that a weapons depot in the Karachev region was destroyed. However, the headquarters did not reveal the means of attack used, but said that 12 secondary explosions and the ignition of ammunition in the warehouse were observed at the target.

“The destruction of ammunition stocks of the Russian occupying army continues, the goal is to stop Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine,” the announcement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated.
