Famous bucket seat maker Recaro Automotive GmbH filed for bankruptcy at the Esslingen District Court on July 29, 2024, with it ordering a provisional administration, appointing Stuttgart lawyer Holger Blumle as provisional administrator.
The court will examine the financial situation of Recaro Automotive GmbH and monitor the management of the company, which employs 215 people at its headquarters in Kirchheim, near Stuttgart.
For several years, the workforce helped maintain the company’s financial stability through wage cuts and payment delays.
We are disappointed and feel abandoned by the management. Our colleagues have made great sacrifices to support the company,
said workers’ council president Frank Bokowits.
The IG Metall union is demanding dialogue with management and stewardship, with Esslingen IG Metall head Alessandro Lieb stating:
We expect all possibilities to be exhausted to secure jobs and find a sustainable solution,
A meeting with employee representatives is planned in the coming days to discuss further steps.
