It has been reported that 2 unidentified people including pedestrians lost control in Shah Amanat Setu (New Bridge) area of Chittagong. 11 more people were injured in this incident. Another truck loaded with fish overturned. The name of the deceased is Bikash (24). The name and identity of the other person is not known.
The accident happened around 10:45 PM on Monday (September 23).
An eyewitness said a Newmarket-bound brick-laden truck lost control and rammed into the CNG, motorcycle and shops nearby. 2 vehicles including CNG driver and bike rider were crushed. About 15 others were injured, he said.
However, Chittagong Medical College Hospital Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Nurul Alam Ashek said that 11 people were admitted to the hospital with injuries in the road accident in New Bridge area. The doctor declared 2 of them dead. He said that efforts are being made to identify them. The rest have been admitted to the ward.
