Recovery of government assets worth 3.5 crores in Hathazari

About three and a half crore government assets have been recovered in Hathajari upazila administration’s illegal construction eviction campaign.

On Sunday (November 17) around noon, an operation was conducted at Sarkarhat Bazar of Mirzapur Union No. 3 under the leadership of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) ABM Mashiuzzaman.

According to the sources, after August 5, a gang of land robbers is occupying government property and building illegal structures on both sides of the highway, from the college gate of the municipality, especially from the college gate of the municipality to Ichapur Faizia Bazar Sattarghat and from the medical gate of Chittagong Nazirhat road to the Hathazari border highway of Nazirhat.

In continuation of that, a person named Abdul Monaf in Sarkarhat Bazar area of ​​No. 3 Mirzapur Union of the upazila occupied the government land for about 32 centuries and started constructing illegal structures in the dark of night with a novel technique.

UNO ABM Mashiuzzaman came to know about the matter and went to the spot after finding out the truth of the incident and conducted an evacuation operation and demolished the illegally constructed structure.

As a result of this operation, the government’s assets worth about three crore fifty lakh taka have been recovered, according to the operation source.

Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Lutfun Nahar Sharmin, members of law and order forces, officials of various government levels were present during the operation.

When asked to know, Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court and Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO ABM Moshiuzzaman, who led the operation, said that no one can occupy government places, he said that such operations will continue against illegal occupants for the sake of the area and Hathazari residents.
