Reduced customs duties for cars from China

Gradual reduction of customs duties for cars from China

While most EU countries are considering or increasing customs duties on cars from China, on the basis of the Serbia-China Free Trade Agreement, they are being reduced in our country

As of July 1, 2024, customs duties on vehicles imported from China to Serbia will be abolished or reduced. This reduction in customs rates on vehicle imports is the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China. That agreement was signed in Beijing on October 17, 2023.

Depending on the category, type of vehicle, customs rates are also reduced by about 1% for most models. With this dynamic, customs duties will gradually be completely abolished, for all vehicles, in 15 years at the latest.

These changes apply to both new and used vehicles.

Current customs rates for passenger vehicles, new and used, with classic, hybrid and plug-in hybrid drives are 12.5 percent. For electric vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles and quadricycles, it is 5.0 percent.
