Reduced sales of the S-Class and EQS lead to a reduction in production

With sales of the S-Class and EQS down by up to 22% in the first half of the year, Mercedes is being forced to cut production of its flagship models at its Sindelfingen plant.

This currently operates in two shifts, but from October the one shift will be abolished and the plant will continue to operate with only one shift.

In its announcement, the German company states that:

We continuously optimize our production network and use its high flexibility to react to fluctuations and changing context conditions in relation to geopolitical, microeconomic and macroeconomic developments and to remain competitive. Therefore, we are planning adaptations to the cars in certain areas of the factory in Sindelfingen.
