Large-scale urban development, the expansion of urban agglomerations and the growth of industrial zones significantly interfere with the natural cycle of water in nature. Where nature and agricultural land can naturally absorb up to 95% of rainfall, in cities with solid surfaces the opposite happens – up to 95% of rainwater drains impervious surfaces out of the area, inevitably losing water to local underground sources, straining sewers and the risk of local flooding is increasing. The IZOMAT company now offers a solution that will help solve this problem effectively: the AQUAPORE absorbent tile from the manufacturer DITON, thanks to which water is naturally absorbed directly where it falls.
AQUAPORE is not only an aesthetic accessory, but an ecological product with special functional properties. Paving allows water to seep through its surface into the lower layers of the substrate, which contributes to retaining water in the soil, relieves pressure on the sewage system and reduces the risk of local flooding. This innovative technology is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and gardens, and its use is possible in both private and public spaces.
“For us at IZOMAT, it is important to bring building materials to the market that not only meet high technical standards, but also support sustainable construction. AQUAPORE permeable paving helps customers solve the problem of rainwater, which contributes to the restoration of groundwater. As a seller of this product, we are happy to be able to offer an ecological solution with a positive impact on the urban environment.” says Aleš Homola, product manager of IZOMAT stavebniny s.r.o
Thanks to its porous structure, AQUAPORE can effectively capture rainwater and drain it into the subsoil, thereby contributing to the restoration of groundwater levels and improving the microclimate in urban areas. By preventing excessive runoff, it also helps to protect the soil from erosion and helps to increase the biodiversity of the site. Other benefits are the ability to reduce the amount of water discharged into the sewer system and wastewater treatment plant. Thanks to the gradual absorption of water directly at the point of its impact, AQUAPORE helps to relieve drainage systems, which reduces the costs of their maintenance and operation.
AQUAPORE soaking tiles are produced by vibro-pressing technology using pressure and vibrations, which achieves the optimal coarse-grained structure of the core and tread layer. Thanks to the specific composition of the materials, the pavement is highly durable and ensures the required useful properties even under heavy loads – an 80 mm-thick pavement can handle the load of cars and lighter trucks, and in the case of a 100 mm-thick pavement, it is possible to achieve a limit load of up to 10 tons for correction. Unlike grass paving or vegetation blocks, which are often problematic to maintain, AQUAPORE has a smooth surface without wide joints and cavities, which facilitates maintenance even in winter.
AQUAPORE is available in different shapes and heights to meet the requirements of both private and public spaces. The assortment includes shapes ÍČKO 6, 8 and 10 cm high, PARQUET 6 and 8 cm high, and ANKLE 6 and 8 cm high. A wide range of colors and shapes enables an aesthetic solution both for parking lots and pedestrian areas, as well as for gardens or driveways.
In addition, ecologically sustainable projects focused on rainwater management can receive support from a number of subsidy titles. Within Operational Program Environment for the period 2021-2027, more than CZK 60 billion can be drawn from the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund for projects in the field of environmental protection. This program includes, for example, support for the implementation of permeable paved surfaces or the replacement of existing solid surfaces with surfaces that allow for the absorption and accumulation of water. Support for projects aimed at maintaining water in the landscape also includes other measures such as green roofs, systems for the use of gray water and other ecological elements.
Regional subsidies can also be used for specific projects, the conditions of which depend on regional priorities and specific subsidy calls. The IZOMAT company recommends cooperation with specialized agencies and companies that are dedicated to providing subsidized titles and advise on the selection of suitable solutions based on local conditions and possibilities. It provides detailed information on subsidy titles, conditions for drawing subsidies and currently advertised calls State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic (www.sfzp.cz) or Operational Program Environment (www.opzp.cz).
