Redzepi: Grenell’s statement is worrying, his decisions could have consequences for Kosovo

The president of the “Friends of America” ​​Association, Agim Redzepi, says that the statement of the future envoy for special missions of Donald Trump, Richard Grenell, that, 35 years ago, relations between Kosovo and the USA were in crisis only during the government of Aljbin Kurti is worrying.

Redzepi said that Grenell, as special mission envoy, would have broad decision-making powers, which could have direct and indirect consequences for Kurti’s government.

– Grenell has been declaring his relations with Kurti’s government for years. His statement yesterday disturbs me a lot, because, according to official information, Grenell will be President Trump’s special envoy. This means that they will have the authority to make decisions and make executive proposals in that form, which may have direct or indirect consequences for Kurti’s government. This may include reports, even making decisions for procedures or for talks, but also on certain mediations or forms of the future negotiating body – Redzepi said.

That’s why he appeals to Kurti’s government to, as he says, urgently change its action strategy, because Trump takes over on January 20.

He reminds that the Republicans have won the majority in the Senate and the Congress, which is why they will have great power.

– Grenell took upon himself an extraordinary responsibility, because the term special envoy means a lot to those who deal with diplomacy. The fact is that Grenell has already warned that there will be two problematic countries – Venezuela and North Korea, but also the Balkans that will be under his influence. And the fact that Grenell has such powers, Kurti’s government should take into account. It is very disturbing that Grenell stated that for 35 years the USA had very good relations with the government of Presidents Rugova, Thaci and Hoti. This is a very disturbing fact because he is a high-ranking official, with many powers, an official with the possibility of great influence on the President of the USA – pointed out Redzepi.
