Registration of future first-graders in Daugavpils schools will begin on February 3

According to statistics, in the Daugavpils municipality in the spring of 2025, 687 children will be able to graduate from preschool education programs, and schools are ready to accept 871 future first-graders.

Registration of regular first-graders in general education institutions will begin on February 3 at 8:00, and the main registration will last until February 28 at 16:00. To register a child at school, parents (guardians) can choose the method that is most convenient for them:

1. The application can be submitted in person in the manner prescribed by each school:

1.1. When visiting in person, you must submit an application (Appendix No. 1) and present an identification document of the parent (guardian), and the guardian must also present the decision of the Orphan’s Court on the establishment of guardianship, if the educational institution cannot obtain it for objective reasons.

1.2. The educational institution will promptly provide the parent/guardian with written confirmation of registration.

2. The application can be submitted remotely by signing it with a secure electronic signature and sending it to the school’s official email (Appendix No. 2):

2.1. When submitting an application electronically, parents should note that only those applications received no earlier than February 3, 8:00 will be registered.

2.2. To receive written confirmation of the child’s registration, the parent (guardian) must come to the school within one week with an identification document.

Accurate information about the possibilities of admitting future first-graders and the maximum number of admissions of first-graders to the relevant educational institution can be obtained by contacting it individually or on the website of the selected school (Appendix No. 3). .

As in previous years, in the 2025/2026 school year, children will be able to be registered in only one educational institution at a time. If a parent (guardian) wants to enroll a child in another educational institution, he must first cancel the application submitted to the previous educational institution. Additional registration is carried out until August 29 or during the academic year if, for objective reasons, it was not possible to register by this date.

We draw the attention of parents to the fact that priority for enrolling students before February 28, 16:00 can be used in the following sequence:

1. for students in the educational institution where they studied in the preschool education program, taking into account the maximum number of students admitted to the educational institution;

2. for students studying in the preschool education program in the 29th Polish kindergarten, in order to ensure continuity of the educational program in the Daugavpils State Polish Gymnasium. J. Piłsudski;

3. for students whose brothers or sisters are studying at an educational institution (in the basic level in grades 1-8, in the middle level in grades 1-11);

4. children of employees working in an educational institution;

5. for students with limited mobility in those educational institutions where accessibility of the environment is ensured.

Before March 15, the educational institution sends a notification in writing to the email address specified in the application, and if it is not specified, to the declared address of the parent (guardian) specified in the application, about the inclusion of the child in the list of 1st grade applicants or refusal.

After receiving written notification that a child is included in the list of 1st grade applicants:

1. parents submit the child’s medical record to the educational institution (form No. 026/u) by June 30;

2. The decision to admit a child to school is made by the director until August 20.

In case of refusal, the Education Department, at the request of parents, provides information about the availability of places in other educational institutions.

Specialists of the Educational Institution offer parents (guardians) to choose in time the most convenient and fastest way to register their child for 1st grade, i.e. prepare an application in advance and submit it remotely – with a secure electronic signature.

Applications:

• application No. 1 (application form for parents to enroll children in 1st grade by submitting an application in person);

• application No. 2 (application form for parents to enroll children in 1st grade by submitting an application remotely);

• application No. 3 (list of general education institutions in the city of Daugavpils for consultations on the issues of enrolling children in 1st grade for the 2025/2026 academic year).
