Registrations for the 15th Exchange and Second Hand Market will open on October 17

14th edition of the Exchange Market and 2nd Hand

On October 17, the Martorell City Council’s Environment Department will open registrations to participate in the 15th Exchange and Second Hand Market. It will take place next November 17, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., on the promenade of Les Bòbiles. People interested in setting up a stall can sign up for free by filling out the application form through the electronic headquarters of the City Council. There will be a maximum of 100 stops.

The Exchange and Second Hand Market “is a space that aims to facilitate the exchange and buying and selling of used objects between individuals, to extend their life and prevent them from becoming unnecessary waste. On the other hand, it is also intended to promote responsible consumption and raise awareness about waste prevention”, says the Councilor for Environment and Animal Welfare, Jordi Amat.

In 2012, the Department of the Environment organized the first Exchange Market in Martorell on the promenade of Les Bòbiles. The following year the market was also a second-hand market and until 2015 two editions were held a year.

Since this market encouraged other entities to organize their own markets (Mercat del Trasto in El Progrés and Mercabros), from 2015 only one annual edition began to be scheduled in November, during the European Waste Prevention Week . From 2023, says councilor Amat, another edition will also be organized in June, around World Environment Day (June 5).
