Regular air services between the continent and autonomous regions with a budget of 12.5 million euros – Society

The State Budget for 2025 foresees the transfer of a budget to the entity that ensures regular air services between the continent and autonomous regions of 12.5 million euros, above that foreseen in the proposal submitted by the Government.

In the votes on the State Budget for 2025, a proposal from the parties that support the Government, PSD and CDS-PP, was approved, which argues that “the State Budget proposal for 2025 must provide for the transfer of a sum to the operator that may be designated to ensure regular air services on non-liberalized routes between the continent and the Autonomous Region of the Azores, and between this and the Autonomous Region of Madeira, compatible with realistic and updated market costs and values and for the scope service provision”.

With this measure, it is determined the “transfer of funds registered in chapter 60, managed by the DGTF, to the entity that will be designated to ensure regular air services, on non-liberalized routes between the continent and the Autonomous Region of the Azores, and between this and the Autonomous Region of Madeira, up to the amount of Euro 12,500,000.00”.

In the bill submitted by the Government, the transfer of nine million euros was foreseen, meaning the amount is now higher.
