The delay in the EU release is due to the Digital Markets Act, which sets strict requirements for large technology companies in terms of data protection and market rules. Macs are not considered gatekeepers here, which is why the AI functions can already be used there. On iPhones and iPads, however, Apple had to make specific adjustments that should be completed by spring 2025. These measures will then enable a comprehensive rollout of Apple Intelligence functions in the European Union.
