Remove the President by this week: Hasnat Abdullah

Hasnat Abdullah, the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, said that within this week, that is, next Wednesday, Thursday, President Md. Sahabuddin will be removed.

He said this to the protestors who appeared in front of the Banga Bhavan at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday night.

Hasnat Abdullah said, Wednesday and Thursday we will remove the silence. After that a decision will be made about who can be made the next president based on the opinions of all the political parties.

Earlier, on Tuesday afternoon in front of the Central Shaheed Minar, the President during this week. The anti-discrimination student movement has made 5 demands, including the resignation of Sahabuddin, cancellation of the current constitution and banning of Chhatra League, Awami League, and Jubo League. Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, has warned to take to the streets again if these demands are not implemented within this period.

Hasnat Abdullah announced 5 points of demand and said that we are announcing 5 points from Shaheed Minar from which we raised 1 point of demand.

The claims are:-

1. The existing constitution should be repealed immediately and a new constitution should be written in the context of the popular uprising of 24.

2. Chhatra League should be banned from Bangladesh for life as a terrorist organization by this week.

3. President Sahabuddin must resign within this week

4. The ‘Proclamation of the Republic’ must be announced within this week in the light of the July revolution. Bangladesh will continue on the basis of the opinion of the existing democratic active political parties of Bangladesh.

5. The 10th, 11th and 12th parliamentary elections in 2014, 2018 and 2024 must be declared illegal. Those who were elected in these three elections, their assets should be confiscated and legal action should be taken so that they can never vote in Bangladesh.
