Renault and Suez are moving forward together to develop the circular economy

Renault and Suez strengthen their ties. The water and waste management firm is taking a 20% stake in The Future is Neutral, the auto manufacturer’s subsidiary dedicated to the circular economy created in 2022. The two groups have worked together for many years. In 2008, they developed Indra, a joint venture for recycling and recovery of end-of-life vehicles.

A platform adapted to the automotive industry

Renault also has a 33% stake in the Suez subsidiary, Boone Comenor Metalimpex (BCM), a specialist in metal waste recycling. These companies, but also The Remakers (reconditioned automobile parts) and Gaïa (closed-loop recycling and battery repair) are integrated into The Future is Neutral. “All activities are profitable and by 2030, the turnover of The Future is Neutral will exceed 2 billion euros” says Jean-Philippe Bahuaud, its general director. The objective is to offer an open circular economy platform for the needs of the automotive sector. “Stellantis and Toyota, in particular, are already BCM customers. So why not go further?”anticipates Sabrina Soussan, CEO of Suez.
