The 2025 Nissan Frontier doubles down on its relentless spirit with a new rugged design, improved utility for work or pleasure, and updated technology that simplifies every journey.
Led by more cargo space availability, increased towing capability and a larger infotainment system, the Frontier’s improvements are driven by customer feedback and Nissan’s efforts to ensure the pickup truck delivers more of what drivers want.
The Frontier’s new look builds on its strong, boxy look with a revised front fascia and bumper design, along with a tweaked tailgate for the PRO-X/PRO-4X versions, a redesigned dashboard, a new 17-inch wheel design and the introduction of a new Afterburn Orange color.
Listening to customer feedback, Nissan has made multiple functional revisions that make living with the Frontier more convenient. A telescoping steering wheel is new standard on all trims, while a four-way power front passenger seat becomes standard on the PRO-X/PRO-4X and SL trims. On the SV trim and higher packages, the six-way power driver’s seat now adds two-way power lumbar adjustment.
The SV package and above add a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, so drivers can use the on-screen features more efficiently and easily. This year, the system adds wireless Android Auto connectivity, in addition to wireless Apple CarPlay.
All Frontier trims now come with a standard sliding rear window and a sunglass holder in the overhead console as standard. SV models now have standard 17-inch alloy wheels. On the SL version, a wireless phone charger, Intelligent Around View Monitor and a four-way power front passenger seat also become standard.
Responding to the diverse needs of pickup truck buyers, the 2025 Frontier expands the availability of a longer wheelbase Crew Cab configuration from SV to SV, PRO-4X and SL trims. This is designed for Frontier riders who want to haul heavier loads, whether it’s for the workplace or a weekend hobby.
The Frontier also boasts an increased maximum trailer capacity this year to 3240kg, allowing for more options for work and adventure. Towing capacity increases by around 225kg across all trims and configurations compared to the 2024 Frontier.
For many Frontier PRO-4X drivers who navigate rough terrain, the enhancements to the Intelligent Around View monitor make the camera system even more efficient. The Off-Road View function can now be used while driving at speeds up to 20 km/h, covering a wider range of typical technical off-road speeds and helping drivers spot obstacles.
On the 2025 Frontier, numerous driver-assistance and safety technologies are now standard on all trim levels, from S to SL. These include lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, rear parking sensors and intelligent cruise control. The Frontier SL also has traffic sign recognition.
The Frontier continues to deliver what customers are looking for in a midsize pickup truck, starting with its 3.8-liter direct-injection V6 engine (310 hp and 380 Nm) and 9-speed automatic transmission.
Active Brake Limited Slip is standard equipment for all versions, with PRO-4X which also has a differential with an electronic lock, in order to provide additional traction on mixed surfaces.
The PRO-X and PRO-4X cater to customers who go further, with all-terrain tires, Bilstein off-road suspension components, an even more rugged look with Lava Red mudguards and towbars.
To safely carry almost everything riders need, Frontier offers the Utili-Track cargo area system with adjustable tie-down clips, as well as an available 120-volt outlet.
Finally, the Frontier SL brings a highly equipped option, with features that include leather front and rear seats, a heated leather steering wheel, LED exterior lighting, and a 10-speaker Fender Premium Audio system.
