There is a strong breeze of innovation blowing in the Czech Republic. The Kodiaq and Superb are still brand new, the Elroq is brand new and this year Skoda is also launching a new compact crossover: the Epiq. The Skoda Epiq – the electric equivalent of the Kamiq – is not the only electrical news from Skoda this year. The brand’s first fully electric car has been renewed and we are of course talking about the popular Skoda Enyaq. And popular, that is the Enyaq. Since its Dutch market introduction in 2021, the Enyaq has proven to be the brand’s most popular car in the Netherlands for three years in a row. In 2024, the Enyaq had to outpace the Octavia, but from 2021 to 2023 the electric SUV sat on the Skoda throne in the Netherlands. A total of almost 21,000 units have already been registered, making the Enyaq the best-selling Skoda ever in the Netherlands after the Octavia, Fabia and Superb. The Skoda Enyaq and the Enyaq Coupé – the variant with a more sloping roofline – have now been renewed. Despite the fact that relatively much has changed, you do not have to count on any major surprises. Following the Elroq This is of course due to the Elroq, which was presented in October last year. The Skoda Elroq should be seen as the electric alternative to the Karoq and is in fact a bit 16 centimeters shorter Enyaq. The Elroq was immediately provided with Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language and now the Enyaq is also following suit. You can mainly recognize the facelifted Skoda Enyaq by the completely new front for the two. The somewhat grille-like fencing and the meanly peering headlights into the world make way for what Skoda calls the ‘Tech-Deck Face’. Here you will find lighting spread over two floors, complete with flat LED daytime running lights, illuminated elements in between and a completely new bumper section. The complete front lid has a new shape and you will no longer find a Skoda logo in the middle. Instead, the Czechs write the brand name in full there. Skoda Enyaq: renewed from front and rear. There is also visual news at the rear, although it is smaller in nature. The IV label – which previously stood on the right under the taillight – has been pulled from the tailgate. The Skoda brand name is now written in a larger format between the rear lights and the part of the rear lights located in the lid has been given a new and more segmented light signature. In the refined Enyaq we see a steering wheel that – just like the front hatch – has to do without a round Skoda logo. The brand name is now written out here too. Even smaller visual news: the Olibo Green paint color is new for the electric duo. You will also notice new silver-colored accents around the car. Nice for the winter months: the steering wheel is electrically heated as standard. Also now standard: Keyless Entry, heated front seats and three-zone climate control. For such extras, you previously had to leave the entry-level Selection and go for the Business Edition. The Selection now has these facilities as standard.Skoda EnyaqTechnology: well-known names, improved performanceThe Skoda Enyaq has had many versions over the years. The electric SUV has been available as 50, 60, 80X, 85 and as a sporty RS. The new Skoda Enyaq will in any case be available as a 60 and as a 85, although the brand also speaks of a third powertrain option. In any case: the Enyaq 60 has a 204 hp and 310 Nm strong electric motor on the rear axle and draws its energy from a 63 kWh battery (gross). This battery can be pumped full of electricity again with 165 kW. The rear-wheel drive Skoda Enyaq 85 is, as before, 286 hp and 545 Nm strong and again has the 82 kWh (gross) battery. With this powertrain, the Skoda Enyaq can travel up to 579 kilometers. The Enyaq Coupé has a range of 589 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with 135 kW.Starting prices Skoda EnyaqThe new Skoda Enyaq can be ordered from January 9. The Skoda Enyaq 60 costs at least €42,990 as a Selection, the Enyaq Coupé €44,990. In addition to the Selection, the Enyaqs are also available as a Business Edition and Sportline. For comparison: the smaller Elroq is available – as Elroq 50 with a 52 kWh battery – from €34,990. An Elroq 60 with a 63 kWh battery (gross) is available from €37,990.
