Karlovy Vary – The representatives of the Karlovy Vary Region will elect a new leadership of the region today at the constituent meeting. Since the ANO movement won the regional elections with a majority, it is almost certain that the election will be unequivocal. ANO has already announced that it wants to create a one-color regional government, composed only of ANO representatives. Jana Mračková Vildumetzová should become the governor.
In addition to the election of the governor and councilors, the council will also decide on remuneration and elect members of commissions and committees. According to ANO’s previous statements, there should be fewer advisory bodies of the regional council and council in this period than there has been so far.
In the Karlovy Vary Region for the past four years, the region has been led by a coalition consisting of the STAN, Pirátů, ODS + KDU-ČSL, Místních, Volby pro kraj and SNK 1 movements. The opposition was ANO and SPD.
In the recent regional elections, ANO won, it won 28 mandates in the forty-five-member council, and thus has a clear majority. Representatives of STAN, which won seven mandates, the SPD and Tricolor coalition, which has four mandates, and three seats each will be occupied by representatives from ODS and Volby pro kraj.
