Resident Evil 9 will take you to the limit with two immortal enemies

We have very important new information about Resident Evil 9. During the months of April and September 2024, various play tests with this long-awaited title, and some very interesting details have been leaked that shed light on key points that we did not know until now.

There’s a lot of fabric to cut, so I’m going to get straight to the point. The April 2024 test focused on Jill Valentine, and in theory it took place in an abandoned hospital that was located on an island. This hospital was decorated with symbols that clearly alluded to a type of religious cult, such as a moon and the symbol of infinity.

The main objective of exploring the hospital was to find a serum that serves as a cure for an infection that affects the inhabitants of the island, and that turns them into a kind of moldy zombies. These enemies are not like classic zombies, but are more similar to those from Resident Evil 4, since they can use knives, axes and scythes.

Jill is supported by radio from Chris Redfield y Barry Burton, She is armed with a shotgun, a pistol and a knife, three classics of the franchise, and maintains the ability to make ammunition, something that debuted in Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. The most interesting thing is that throughout the game sequence Jill is chased by an enemy we cannot kill, known as “Goatman”, the “goat man” in a literal translation. At the end of the sequence it infects Jill, which generates great expectation.

The September 2024 demo focused on Leon S. Kennedy, and it took place on a beach that led directly to a forest that is near the laboratory of a Mr. Simon, whom Leon is chasing. Simon is creating clones of Evelyn, who I’m sure many of you remember from her role as the main villain in Resident Evil 7.

During this demo Leon also had to face mold infected zombies that can use different weapons, and he has to avoid an invincible enemy that does not stop chasing him, but this is different from the one that chases Jill, since can turn into a swarm of flies that produce hallucinations. Yes, I’m sure this will remind you of the sisters from Resident Evil Village.

It is confirmed that there is a cult in Resident Evil 9, because during the demo with Leon he sees several enemies praying to the Moon at a bonfire. Leon and Jill may have two different scenarios, something that would be an excellent idea, and that was implemented for the first time in the saga with Resident Evil 2.

From what I have seen, it seems that Resident Evil 9 will have strong influences from Resident Evil 4 and also Resident Evil 7. I remind you that it has been rumored that this game is going to have a more open world type approach, and that it will be exclusive to the current generation of consoles and PC. Its launch will take place in the second half of 2025.
