The Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service signed a contract with the Korea Veterans Health Service (VHS) on the 15th to review the commissioned medical expenses, and will begin reviewing the medical expenses of patients eligible for discounts at hospitals commissioned by veterans from the 17th.

The Evaluation and Assessment Service has signed a contract with the Veterans Health Service to conduct examinations of ▲2005 National Veterans Hospital National Fund Recipients ▲2008 National Veterans Hospital National Fund Recipients ▲2017 Veterans Health Hospital Discount Recipients, and is currently conducting examinations. By signing this examination contract for discounted treatment at Veterans Health Hospital, the Evaluation and Assessment Service will now conduct examinations of all veterans’ treatment fees.

Through this examination and consignment, the procedure from examination to payment of medical expenses will be simplified and accelerated. Previously, medical expenses for patients who are eligible for a reduction at a veterans’ hospital were individually settled between the consignment hospital and the six jurisdictional veterans’ hospitals nationwide according to the reduction rate after examination. After the examination and consignment, a system was established so that automatic settlement can be made between veterans’ hospitals and consignment hospitals based on the examination decision details.
