Revolutionary refrigerators with hybrid cooling should also come to the Slovak market.
Samsung announced that it will introduce new refrigerators with AI Hybrid Cooling technology at the January CES trade fair, which it will launch on the global market within the year. It is not yet known when exactly they will arrive in Slovakia.
AI Hybrid Cooling technology is based on the combination of a powerful compressor with a thermoelectric Peltier module, which is a semiconductor device that uses temperature changes caused by electric current for cooling. Thanks to this module, the refrigerator works like a hybrid car – it uses two sources of energy, which together ensure the cooling of the interior space with maximum efficiency.
When it is necessary to increase the cooling capacity sharply (for example, when storing a large purchase, hot food or during the summer heat), the compressor and the Peltier module are activated simultaneously. However, under normal circumstances, only the compressor is running so that the refrigerator saves energy. Monitoring of the current state inside the refrigerator is ensured by artificial intelligence algorithms that can predict temperature changes and accordingly set the corresponding cooling mode in advance.
The inverter compressor itself with artificial intelligence also contributes to energy savings, mainly thanks to an improved design that increases the radius of the rotating parts. Compared to a conventional Samsung F3 compressor, it has up to 4.1 times more inertia and at the same time consumes less electricity. It dynamically regulates the speed itself with the help of artificial intelligence.
AI Hybrid Cooling technology also helps keep short-life foods fresher for longer – thanks to precise hybrid cooling that ensures the temperature inside the fridge practically does not fluctuate. This technology also works during automatic defrost cycles. During defrosting, it uses the residual heat of the Peltier module, thereby limiting temperature fluctuations that negatively affect food quality. Tests have shown that if we activate the precision hybrid cooling system, fresh food, such as pork or salmon, will stay fresh 1.4 times and 1.2 times longer, respectively, than when this function is turned off.
In addition, refrigerators with AI Hybrid Cooling technology have an internal capacity of up to 900 liters, while their external dimensions remain unchanged. The internal space has increased by 25 liters compared to a conventional refrigerator, which is possible thanks to the use of the Peltier module. The shelves can thus be 60 mm deeper and the entire space has increased by 13.8 percent.
