According to the latest forecast of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ), Serbia will be affected by extremely high temperatures in the coming days, with maximum values between 32°C and 37°C. Showers are possible, but are expected only in the western and southern parts of the country, and in rare cases, with the local development of cloud cover. These temperatures represent a challenge for the population, especially due to possible health risks due to heat stress.
In addition to the current high temperatures, amateur meteorologist Ivan Ristić announces significant changes in the weather in the coming week. According to his forecast, in the middle of next week, Arctic air will enter Western Europe, which will bring temperatures down to between 10°C and 15°C in countries like Great Britain and Ireland.
This change in Western Europe will also affect the weather conditions in our region. It is expected that in the second half of next week, the “Vienna Gate” will open, which will bring significantly lower temperatures to Serbia, between 21°C and 25°C, which will represent the transition to the autumn period.
RHMZ about the weather
As RHMZ adds, along with the drop in temperatures, the cyclone that will pass over Serbia will bring cloudy weather with occasional rain. This rainfall will bring relief in the fight against fires, which have become a serious problem due to prolonged droughts and high temperatures.
Unfortunately, in recent years, Serbia has been facing increasingly frequent droughts, especially during the summer months. These dry periods are characterized by a lack of precipitation for a long period of time, which negatively affects agriculture and water resources, causing significant losses.
Extreme temperatures pose a great challenge to human health. According to data, the human body can withstand a temperature of up to 35°C on a wet thermometer. When body temperature reaches or exceeds this value, sweating is no longer an effective means of cooling the body, which can lead to serious health problems, including heat stroke. That is why it is extremely important to monitor the weather conditions and take precautions during high temperatures.
As next week draws to a close, temperatures are expected to drop. They will reduce from the current summer values of 26-30°C to autumn figures of 21-25°C. This drop in temperature will mark the end of the current heat wave and the beginning of a more stable fall period. Faced with increasingly extreme weather conditions, such as frequent droughts and high temperatures, the population will have to adapt to changes in climatic conditions, following the latest forecasts in order to prepare in time for possible challenges.
