And this is because the heavy rainfall has created very difficult conditions since the roads are full of water and stones. Especially from Kalathos to the “Gadoura” bridge, things are very difficult, as shown in the relevant video.

According to the latest information, the rainfall has also created unpleasant situations in Pylona where there is talk of flooded houses. The volunteer groups are on their feet and doing what they can both in Pylona and in Kalathos and Lardo.

The Fire Service is on foot

On foot is the Fire Service of Rhodes, the Civil Protection teams of the Municipality and the Region and dozens of volunteers throughout the island who have already taken action, reports rodiaki.gr.

According to the report, the bad weather is manifesting itself in the areas from Tsairi to Afandou. The roads in the area of ​​Kalythia and Faliraki are also flooded, which creates dangers and problems for the traffic of drivers and vehicles respectively.

According to information from volunteer groups, two passengers have already been freed from the vehicle from a flooded road in the Afando area. The citizens have been moved to a safe place.

The services remain alert and fully prepared, in case additional problems arise.

It is noted that at 2 a.m. on Sunday (5/1) a 112 message was sent to the island’s residents, warning of severe weather conditions and to restrict movement.
