Around two o’clock in the afternoon, the general index of the Helsinki Stock Exchange was up 0.8 percent at 9879.43 points.
By the afternoon, the most traded stock was Nordeawhose share strengthened by 1.7 percent to 10.95 euros.
On Friday afternoon, the biggest increase was made by the cargo handling equipment company Kalmarwhose share strengthened by 9.5 percent to 31.36 euros.
Kalmar published its third quarter interim report today. The accumulation of new orders in particular was a positive surprise for investors.
Kalmar received new orders for 416 million euros, while the order pot for the comparison period was 392 million euros. by Vara Research the consensus forecast of nine analysts expected 384 million euros.
The order backlog at the end of September was 905 million euros, while at the turn of the year the figure was 1,024 million euros and at the end of June 925 million euros.
Kalmar raised its guidelines in connection with the results publication. The company now estimates its comparable operating profit margin to be over 12 percent this year in 2024. The previous estimate was a comparable operating profit margin of over 11 percent.
A materials technology company was also on the rise among the results publishers Betolar. Betolar’s share rose by 8.9 percent to 0.98 euros.
Betolar’s turnover increased to 276,000 euros in July–September from 167,000 euros in the comparison period. The company is followed only by an analysis house Indereswhich anticipates a turnover of 0.4 million euros.
Betolar’s EBITDA improved in the third quarter to -0.97 million euros from -2.6 million euros in the comparison period. Inderes anticipates an EBITDA of -1.2 million euros.

Specialized in infrastructure construction Created says that it has signed a contract worth about 9.3 million euros with the Norwegian Railways Agency, which the company will enter in its order book in November.

Construction company YIT says it has agreed TA Group with the construction of an ARA-financed apartment building project in Espoo’s Kera. The housing company will consist of two apartment buildings, and the deal also includes the sale of the plot.
The value of the contract is approximately EUR 12 million and YIT will enter it in the order book for the last quarter of the year.
YIT’s share was up 4.2 percent at 2.71 euros.
The fish farming company Fifax says it has signed four separate loan agreements, the total amount of which is 500,000 euros. The lenders are V Group, Holdix, Etric and flush.
According to the loan agreements, the loan capital and the accumulated capitalized annual interest of 15 percent will be repaid on October 31, 2025.
In the afternoon, Fifax shares were down 1.8 percent at 0.27 euros.
