An accused of weapons and robbery case and an active member of a dacoit gang has been arrested in Chittagong Anwara. On Friday (22nd) November, he was arrested in a joint operation at his home in Barkhain Union of the upazila.
The arrested Shahadat Hossain (44) is the son of deceased Abdus Sabur of Barkhain Union. There are multiple cases of weapons and robbery against him in Anwara police station. He was in hiding for a long time.
According to army sources, the arrested Shahadat is an active member of a local professional dacoit group. He has been accused of extortion and intimidation and robbery at the local big animal market Sarkar market with indigenous weapons.
