Warner Bros has released the first trailer for ‘The Alto Knights’ starring Robert De Niro in a dual role directed by Academy Award winner Barry Levinson.
The script by Nicholas Pileggi unfolds in the dark alleys of New York in the middle of the 20th century at a time when the mafia dominated. At the center are two of the most powerful and famous names in organized crime: Frank Costello and Vito Genovese.

In March 2023 on “The Adam Jones Podcast”, Levinson noted of the film’s plot that it is a story about “two best friends who become sworn enemies”. Referring to De Niro’s dual role he pointed out: “He’s an amazing actor. It was like working with two different actors.”

Academy Award winner Irwin Winkler executive produced alongside Levinson, Jason Sosnoff, Charles Winkler and David Winkler.
According to Deadline, the film’s production has faced several delays, but in the summer of 2022, Warner Bros. Pictures eventually took over the implementation of the project.
