Robert Zile will continue to work as vice-president of the European Parliament, the MP’s representative told LETA Karlis Bumeister.
Zile is currently the only member of parliament from the Baltic States elected to this responsible position. The Latvian MEP emphasizes that he is pleased and grateful for the repeated trust shown by MEPs, and therefore for the assessment of his previous work.
“Working in this position has given me the opportunity to use political influence on the most important issues for Latvia and to defend them more effectively than the vote of one ordinary member of parliament would allow. The position of vice president allows me to have a wider circle of people with whom I want to cooperate, as well as those who want to cooperate with me, thereby expanding my political reach and influence, which is beneficial for Latvia and the Baltic States, whose interests I always try to defend.”says Zile.
