Roborock launched a new range of products at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the flagship of which is Roborock Saros Z70. It is the first robot vacuum cleaner in the world equipped with a 5-axis foldable robotic arm called OmniGrip.
Saros Z70 aims to represent a qualitative leap in the sector of intelligent appliances. The OmniGrip arm allows the robot to actively interact with the home environment, grabbing and moving small objects such as socks, handkerchiefs and slippers weighing up to 300 grams. This feature allows the device to free the floor from obstacles that would normally prevent complete cleaning.
Roborock Saros Z70 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can move small objects
OmniGrip works in synergy with the robot’s AI and is able to open, extend and rotate both horizontally and vertically on its five axes. During the first cleaning session, Saros Z70 carries out its normal cleaning tasks while mapping the environment, identifying objects it can lift and marking them. In the second session, go back and tidy up, then cleaning the previously clogged areas. Everything can be managed via the Roborock app, where you can activate and deactivate OmniGrip, choose which objects to interact with and define the storage areas. Precision sensors, a camera and an LED light help OmniGrip determine its position, its surroundings and whether the object it grips is too heavy.
The technological heart of the new home cleaning device is the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 navigation systemwhich combines 3D Time-of-Flight sensors and an AI-enhanced RGB camera. Thanks to technology, the robot is able to create an extremely detailed three-dimensional map of the home, recognizing and classifying up to 108 different types of obstacles. Machine learning allows Saros Z70 to constantly improve its recognition capabilities, adapting its behavior to avoid collisions and ensure more efficient cleaning.
The technology VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidancewhich uses a side-projected vertical laser, adds an additional level of precision in obstacle avoidance. Cleaning performance lives up to expectations, with a suction power of 22,000 Pa and an advanced washing system. The rotating cloths, which can be raised up to 2.2 cm, allow better air circulation and more effective drying, preventing dirt from dragging onto already cleaned surfaces. With a height of just 7.98 cm, Saros Z70 can easily reach areas under furniture and beds.
Roborock has also thought of pet lovers, implementing functions such as Video Call & Cruise for remote control, Pet Snaps to take photos and the “Search for pet” function. Privacy is guaranteed by the absence of image storage.
Alongside the top model, Roborock also launched Saros 10 and Saros 10R: the first introduces the RetractSense navigation systemwhich combines a Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) module with an upward-facing Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor allowing the robot to dynamically adapt to low spaces, retracting the LDS module when necessary. Saros 10R, however, stands out for its use of the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 navigation system, the same used in the Z70 model. Both devices share features such as the AdaptiLift frame, capable of overcoming differences in height of up to 3-4 cm, and VertiBeam technology for lateral obstacle avoidance.
The three models are manageable through the Roborock appwhich allows you to control every aspect of cleaning, from programming to mapping, up to adjusting the suction power and wash settings. The function SmartPlan 2.0powered by artificial intelligence, automatically optimizes settings based on user habits and the characteristics of the home environment. Voice control is supported both through the integrated assistant, which can be activated with the “Hello, Rocky!” command, and through compatibility with the main voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant. Furthermore, future compatibility with the Matter 1.4 standard will ensure perfect integration with the smart home ecosystem.
The Roborock ecosystem expands further with the introduction of F25 series of wet&dry vacuums and floor cleanerswhose models use the feature FlatReach Deep Cleaning a 180°which facilitates cleaning under low furniture, and for the anti-tangle and anti-stain roller equipped with two scrapers. The Chinese company also enters the washing machine sector with the models Zeo One, Zeo Lite e Zeo Miniall smart with Zeo-cycle drying technology, based on the absorbent properties of zeolite. The drying process takes place at a moderate temperature of 50°C, ensuring optimal care of the fabrics.
The new Roborock Saros range and the F25 series will be available during the first half of 2025. The company has not yet communicated the official prices and specific sales channels for the Italian market.
