Although the release of the ROG Phone 9 is undoubtedly still a long way off, various rumors and leaks are already hearing about the next iteration of the Asus gamer mobile. The other day, it used to be the supplier of reliable information Smart Pikachu gossiped about the device and described its most important specifications.
It claims the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which is expected to power many Android flagships next year – including the Honor Magic 7, Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, and the OnePlus 13 with this chipset. it can be armed on store shelves.
It also turned out that the ROG Phone 9 can come with up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage – among Asus’ devices, only the absolute top model, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, currently has these specifications. As for the display, the leaker talks about a major improvement here as well, although the exact details are not yet known. The ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro were released with a 6.78-inch FHD+ resolution AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate – we can primarily expect higher brightness and resolution in the new model.
The leaker’s post has one screenshot also published, which shows the alleged certification of the ROG Phone 9. Based on the listing bearing the model number “ASUSAI2501A”, we can conclude that the new gamermobile will support 65-watt wired charging, which is also in line with the performance of the ROG Phone 8.
The exact appearance is not yet known, but given that the ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro were presented at the beginning of this year, we can assume that Asus may launch the new device sometime in early 2025, but of course we cannot completely rule out an earlier appearance either.
