FC Porto beat Benfica (3-2) and imposed the Reds’ first defeat in the roller hockey championship.
The match was balanced, with alternating scores and opportunities close to two goals.
Telmo Pinto, Edu Lamas and Carlo Di Benedetto scored for the home team.
For the eagles, Lucas Ordóñez scored twice.
In the final minutes, controversy ensued with the Dragons’ tenth foul. Benfica was entitled to a free kick – which, due to the referee’s decision, was repeated. Both times Xavi Malián was decisive in keeping FC Porto’s advantage.
The president of the dragons, André Villas-Boas, was in the stands watching the match.
With this result, FC Porto takes the lead in the championship, with 18 points, but one game more than Benfica and Sporting, who have 15.
