In the counties under the orange rain and wind warning, the operational capacity will be increased and two helicopters equipped with a winch and necessary equipment will be pre-alert, he announced on Saturday, September 28, during a video conference on the topic of meteorological and hydrological warnings issued for the following period, the head of DSU, Raed Arafat.

He stated that the connection with the MAI staff will be permanently maintained through the video conference system, thus ensuring an efficient and quick coordination of the interventions.

During the video conference, which was convened by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, the preventive and intervention measures implemented so far in each county under the orange code were analyzed, as well as the necessary actions to effectively respond to possible emergency situations that could occur as a result of forecasted meteorological phenomena.

Each county presented the current status of the measures taken, including the arrangement of the emergency service at the level of the town halls, the creation of a record of vulnerable and disabled persons who may need support, the constant verification of the situation on the ground and the monitoring of rivers and potentially flooded areas.

Minister Cătălin Predoiu emphasized the importance of paying more attention to hydrological warnings, reiterating the fact that it is essential to maintain permanent contact with administrative-territorial units and to ensure the operation of communication stations. It was also discussed the need for special measures regarding the tourist routes in the mountain areas, if the situation requires it.
