The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported a violation of the country’s airspace, presumably by a drone. The object was detected on the evening of December 26 in the Tulcea county area.
“The Romanian army radar surveillance system detected… a signal from a small aerial target that was moving along a route towards national airspace,” it said RIA Novosti with reference to a statement by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
After the discovery of the object in the country, the Air Police Combat Service aircraft began to prepare for takeoff. The Tulcea County Emergency Situations Inspectorate issued an alarm to the population. A few minutes later, radar contact with the object was lost.
Earlier, the Polish military scrambled fighter jets due to the alleged activity of Russian aviation in the Ukrainian direction.
