The Romanian Football Federation established on Thursday, August 8, 2024, based on the geographical criterion, the matches of Round 3 of the Romanian Cup, 2024-2025 edition, which will take place in the middle of the following week, on Wednesday and Thursday, August 14 and 5, from 5:30 p.m., except for one, the Corvin game, scheduled for August 21.
In this phase, 24 games take place, in a single, eliminatory leg. The remaining 14 clubs from League 2 also enter the competition.
All teams from League 2 play in Round 3 of the Romanian Cup, 2024-2025 edition. Two teams from League 4 are still in the competition

Of the 22 League 2 teams participating in this round, eight were set to play each other (AFC Câmpulung Muscel – Chindia Târgovişte, Concordia Chiajna – Steaua Bucharest, CS Afumati – Metaloglobus Bucharest, Viitorul Pandurii Târgu Jiu – Corvinul Hunedoara).
In 13 matches teams from League 2 meet some from League 3, in five matches teams from League 3 meet, in one a team from League 2 (CSM Slatina) duels with one from League 4 (ACS Lupii Profa), and in another we have a battle between a team from League 3 (Bucovina Rădăuţi) and another from League 4 (CSM Paşcani).
