Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in the world to reach the goal of 900 goals.

The 39-year-old star striker scored his 131st goal for Portugal in Thursday’s Nations League A-Division 1st match against Croatia, improving his all-time record for the national team.
Ronaldo made his mark in the 34th minute of the opening match of the new season of the League of Nations after Nuno Mendes’ cross, when he directed the ball behind goalkeeper Dominik Livakovič from five meters. The five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or has 62 accurate hits ahead of his pursuer Lionel Messi (842).
Brazilian legend Pele is in third place with 762 goals. Ronaldo was also the first to break the 800-goal mark at the end of 2021 during his second spell at Manchester United.
He divided his club 769 goals between five clubs, netting the most for Real Madrid (450), followed by the “Red Devils” (145), the national team (131) and Juventus Turin (101).
He skillfully scored 68 times for his current club Al-Nassr and added five goals at the beginning of his career for Sporting Lisbon.
A triumph for San Marino
San Marino footballers won their first victory in more than 20 years. The last team in the FIFA rankings defeated the players of Liechtenstein 1:0 in Thursday’s match of the 1st group of the D-division.
This is only the second triumph in history for the San Marín team, with the first one recorded on April 28, 2004 in Serravalle against Liechtenstein (1:0). In the 53rd minute, only 19-year-old striker Nicko Sensoli scored the winning accurate shot of the “dwarf” from the Apennine Peninsula, for whom it was his first goal for the national A-team.
