Roskomnadzor denied involvement in the failure of Steam

A service failure on November 1 was recorded by the Downdetector.su service. Over the past 24 hours, problems with using Steam have been reported 14 thousand times, and in the last hour – 650 times. Users reported being unable to load the website and mobile app.
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Anton Gorelkin stated TASS that problems with access to the Steam gaming service are the responsibility of the digital platform itself; there is no intervention from Roskomnadzor.
In February 2024, Roskomnadzor added Steam to the register of prohibited sites. The operation of the service was limited based on a decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In October, the agency announced that Steam had removed materials prohibited in Russia.
