“Roskomnadzor restricts access to illegal information on the basis of court decisions declaring information prohibited and decisions of authorized bodies. At the moment, the department has not received such decisions,” said a representative of the RKN.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorelkin said that STALKER 2 “has every chance of being officially banned in Russia,” pointing out that this will be due not only to the fact that “the video game developers support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

“If, after its release, illegal information is discovered in game content (extremism, justification of terrorism, incitement of ethnic hatred, etc.), the most severe measures will be taken,” the deputy promised.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a first-person shooter developed by the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The game was announced back in 2010, but its release was repeatedly postponed, including due to the Russian military special operation in Ukraine. In 2022 Roskomnadzor blocked STALKER 2 website, since it posted an appeal from the developers who condemned the special operation.
