Ross Young reports significant upgrades for the iPhone 17 screen

Massive will be the changes prepared by Apple for the new iPhone 17 series that was to be released next year and will include: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. According to Display Supply Chain Consultant (DSCC), Ross Young talked about the iPhone 17 series and pointed out that we will see big screen upgrades. Specifically, all these models will feature a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO OLED panels. This upgrade allows the display to adjust its rate at very low rates, even as low as 1Hz. This change has been long-awaited, as Apple has maintained a high refresh rate for Pro models in previous releases. Users can look forward to a smoother and more fluid experience when using their phones.

The iPhone 17 Slim will also come with the same 120 Hz technology and LTPO OLEDs. This is a less surprising move, as the Slim model aims to be a halo product. Apple hopes that by adding this feature, it can attract more buyers.

The possibility remains open that we will see the rumored iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max a new Face ID under the display, but without anyone being certain about this change. If we consider that such an improvement is possible, then Dynamic Island may undergo some modifications. The screen cutout will become noticeably smaller, accommodating only the selfie camera. This design change will make the Pro models visually more closely aligned with current flagship Android devices.

In general, the iPhone 17 series promises to offer significant improvements to its displays. With the inclusion of a 120Hz refresh rate on all models and the possibility of Face ID debuting under the display on the Pro versions, Apple looks set to make a major impact on the smartphone industry. These innovations will not only improve the user experience but also help Apple stay competitive with other leading brands.
