Among other things, the Chancellor will look ahead to 2024 on RTL. What other topics and guests have been decided?
For the first time, RTL will broadcast its annual review “People, Images, Emotions” on a Wednesday evening. For many years, Günther Jauch moderated the live program on Sundays – after Jauch’s demise, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg and Thomas Gottschalk and, since 2023, Steffen Hallaschka moderated. In 2023, the review came on Thursdays, which is not possible this year due to a football broadcast. So RTL is planning on December 11th, a Wednesday, with the show being created in Cologne. Now the first guests are known.
One of the topics will be “Quo Vadis, Olaf Scholz” – the Chancellor will also be a guest in the studio. Olaf Scholz talks to moderator Steffen Hallaschka about the events of the past few weeks and the early elections at the end of February. Hape Kerkeling is also on the guest list, as is ex-Formula 1 driver and Sky employee Ralf Schumacher, who came out this year.
Kevin Lick (19), a former Russian prisoner, is supposed to talk about his time in prison, Julian Nagelsmann looks back on the year for the German national soccer team. The theme design shows once again: It will be a balancing act for the editorial team to combine the very colorful or sporty topics with the sometimes harsh (war) reality.
RTL annual review wants to focus on people
The basic concept of the show is therefore retained. In addition to world events, the RTL annual review also focuses primarily on the people who shaped 2024 beyond the big headlines – through extraordinary fates, courage and special commitment and courage. A week later, ZDF will also broadcast his annual review with Markus Lanz
