From next year, 007 can be seen again on RTL, Vox and Co. The licenses in Germany were recently held by the competition.

The license rights for the 007 films will change hands again at the turn of the year, it has now been announced. If they were with RTL Deutschland between 2018 and 2022, they were then transferred to ProSiebenSat.1. And they will now return to RTL Deutschland shortly. The media group has announced that it will broadcast the legendary James Bond films again from 2025. The license for 25 official films from Amazon MGM Studios Distribution has been secured. On free TV, Bond will once again have his home on channels such as RTL, Nitro and Vox.

At Vox, James Bond often ensured really good ratings in the time slots on Thursday evenings. Andreas Fischer, Chief Operating Officer of RTL Deutschland, explains: “The timeless and distinctive James Bond series is one of the most successful and popular film franchises ever and now has its home again on our channels’ free TV.”

Bond future uncertain

What happens next with “James Bond” after Daniel Craig is still unclear. Recent British media reports give little hope that a new leading actor will be found and a new 007 film will be produced in the near future.
