No one seems to be able to stop the leaks, which is good news for us, but less good news for Nvidia.
By now, we are really only days away from the start of CES 2025 and the formal introduction of the RTX 5000 series. Nobody here is looking forward to finally being able to work with official information, not just unconfirmed information from leakers, which is also quite worrying. This time, one A YouTuber named Vex got an earful from the manager of an Australian hardware store, and the prices he presented are eye-opening.
It is important to note here that we cannot confirm or deny Vex’s report. Until Nvidia says anything for sure, we’re groping in the dark, so the numbers below could easily be wrong.
Either way, according to said seller, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 OC (Asus’ slightly tweaked version) would cost AU$2,799. At home, this would mean HUF 685,755, but this is obviously only a direct conversion based on the daily exchange rate, and the various taxes and other contributions are not yet included.
If the numbers above are correct, the 5080 will start well above the 4080’s price tag. In principle, the new card can be on the same level as the 4090 in terms of raw power, and in this case the price increase would be understandable. However, if the 5080 lags behind the titanium, then few people will attack the card with full enthusiasm.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we can’t wait to see what Nvidia’s new product line is capable of.
