Rui Moreira in ‘war’ of comments on the Internet – Tv Media

Comments on social media about politicians are nothing new. Some ignore what is published, others respond. This is the case of Rui Moreira, president of the Porto Chamber, who has been involved in heated exchanges of comments with several internet users.

One of the episodes happened after a report from Porto Canal about the closure of Livraria Latina. “That’s how Rui Moreira likes it. A Porto for tourists”, wrote one of the users. “You’ve never bought a book in your life. You don’t even know how to read. How is it possible to run a bookstore when you have no customers?”, replied the mayor.

The ‘war’ of comments continued with another user writing that Rui Moreira will be remembered as “the sellout who killed the very noble and undefeated city of Porto in exchange for money” and that “at this time, he is drinking the ‘drink’ before lunch, like any self-respecting bourgeois with aspirations to nobility…”. The response was immediate: “By the way, I’m not into drinks and I was with my grandchildren. And what were you smoking?”

In the same publication, Rui Moreira is involved in another exchange of words. “The lady was at a dog hairdresser and told me that it was an activity that the municipality should subsidize, remember?”, she published.

In another case, in reaction to a publication by Notícias ao Minuto about Nuno Lobo, former candidate for president of FC Porto, the mayor commented: “The next president! (of the Guifões starlings)”.

A source from the presidential office told the CM that this “is a characteristic of the mayor, because anyone who doesn’t feel that way is not the son of good people”, and that it shows his “involvement with public opinion”.
