Rumor: Days Gone remaster coming

A rumor is circulating on social media that Sony may be preparing a remaster of it Days Gone. The open world game from Bend Studio was released in 2019, at the end of the PS4 generation, and has already been updated for PS5 to run at 60 frames per second.

The rumor was started by the VGC reporter Jordan Middlerwho retweeted a story that said a “less exciting” remaster was coming from Sony. Middler commented: “If he was mad that his character is in Astro Bot, he’s going to be mad about it.” This comment refers to its director Days Gone, John Garvinwho had expressed strong dissatisfaction with the appearance of the protagonist Deacon St John in the game Astrobot. If this rumor isn’t a joke, it looks like it is Days Gone may be the next remaster from PlayStation, along with the Horizon Zero Dawn.

If this information is true, it will be an unusual move from Sony, as the company has not shown much interest in its sequel Days Goneafter the proposal for a sequel was rejected. The Bend Studio is currently working on a new project that will use the game’s technology, but it will not be a direct sequel. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the State of Oregon, two years after a pandemic turned much of humanity into horrific creatures called “Freakers”. The story centers on protagonist Deacon St. John, a former biker and bounty hunter.

Also, there is some talk of a possible movie based on Days Gonebut no official plans have been announced. All this may become clear in the next one State of Playwhich is rumored to take place next week.
