Russia accuses France of paranoia for refusing to accredit some Russian journalists to the Olympics
France’s acting interior minister said on Sunday that French security services had rejected more than 4,000 applications for accreditation for the Olympics, including on grounds of espionage and cyber attacks.
Gerald Darmanin, who said nearly 100 applications were rejected because of espionage concerns, said some of those rejected came from Russia and Belarus, a staunch ally of Moscow.
“This is just paranoia, real paranoia,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
