Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has categorically stated that in Kazakhstan crashed down Russia is responsible for the Azerbaijani passenger plane crash. In his post published on the AX platform, Zelensky emphasized that the photos and videos from the scene clearly prove his claim. He expressed his deep condolences to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that every human life is precious and every death requires a thorough investigation to find out the truth. Zelensky expressed concern that Russia may be spreading false information about the disaster. Therefore urged the international community to to act unitedly against Moscow, to reveal the truth and bring those responsible to justice.
During the disaster, an Embraer 190 of Azerbaijan Airlines crashed near Aktau. There were 67 passengers and crew on board, including citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. 38 people are reported to have lost their lives. An investigation was launched to find out the cause of the accident, but several sources reported that the plane could have been shot down by a Russian air defense system.
