The organizers of the National Technology Olympiad (NTO) have prepared more than 50 lessons for schoolchildren in the jubilee tenth season of the competition. Teachers of grades 5-11 of comprehensive schools and mentors of technology clubs can conduct classes designed to increase students’ interest in modern technologies. NTO lessons are available in the public domain on the website https://nti-lesson.ru/.
In total, more than fifty thematic lessons have been prepared and published in the 2024/25 academic year, which are suitable for conducting classes in computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and geography. The NTO lessons are created in the format of videos and presentations, they contain interactive tasks, games and involve feedback so that each participant and teacher can share their opinion on the classes and their content.
“On the one hand, NTO Lessons introduce schoolchildren to the technologies of the future, and on the other hand, we hope that the lesson material will spark interest, the children will want to learn more about promising areas, and the National Technology Olympiad will help them with this,” said Dmitry Zemtsov, executive secretary of the NTO organizing committee and vice-rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. “At the Olympiad, schoolchildren in grades 5-7 will have a choice of 6 technological areas and more than 30 specialized areas for grades 8-11. In NTO, they will be able to immerse themselves in one or another technological industry and try on different roles: programmer, 3D designer, constructor, developer, etc. Finding your business and role in life is not easy, and the NTO Lesson is an excellent starting point for this.”
The NTO directions change, the content and list of lessons are updated annually taking into account new profiles, tasks and competencies. In the anniversary season of the Olympiad, lessons for NTO Junior (for grades 5-7) and lessons for many profiles of grades 8-11 have been completely updated. A number of Olympiad tasks are developed by its partners, so schoolchildren will have access to tasks prepared directly by technology companies. Lessons have been modernized for students interested in computer game development, wireless communication technologies, analysis of space images and other areas.
NTO lessons have been held in Russia for six years already, during which time they have been held by more than 9,000 teachers and mentors in different regions of the country. Each teacher can receive a certificate for holding a lesson. The organizers recommend holding NTO lessons before the end of September so that schoolchildren have more time to get acquainted with technologies and choose specialized areas in the Olympiad.
